Children's Rights Must Always Come First

It's time to speak plainly about parental responsibility. Every child has the right to a safe and secure upbringing, and society has an obligation to ensure this security. When parents fail to meet the legal requirements of parenthood, society must act decisively and without hesitation. This isn't about judgment or condemnation but about protecting children while offering parents the support they need to grow and improve.

My experience in social services has taught me how crucial it is to combine clarity and empathy in these situations. Even when implementing mandatory interventions, it’s possible to establish a dialogue where parents feel heard and respected. Demonstrations or protests should never deter society's responsibility to protect children, and every intervention must follow the law and include a realistic plan for reunification or contact where possible.

By being 100 percent honest and transparent with parents, and working on their shortcomings in a motivational way, we can create positive change that benefits all of society. In my experience, clarity and empathy lead to the best outcomes—and these should always be our guiding principles.
